Home of the Historical Society of
Princeton, Bainbridge House (1766)
was the home of Dr. Absalom Bainbridge, a Loyalist surgeon who leased
it from the Stocktons (see Morven). In 1777, he was declared guilty of high
treason and his possessions were confiscated and sold. The Historical Society
mounts changing exhibits on the history of Princeton, and maintains a
research library and offices in the restored building.
