The Webinar will start with Peter Benton and Elizabeth Watson, our management planning consultants, describing a variety of possible scenarios (aka “alternatives”) for the plan such as:

A. Current Conditions Continue -- Envisions a primary audience of history enthusiasts and students

B. Revolutionary Legacies – Emphasizes communities, interpretation and Revolutionary era values expressed today focuses on community-based audiences

C. Welcoming Visitors -- Focuses on a primary audience of in-state and out-of-state visitors

D. Resource Stewardship -- Emphasizes long-term maintenance and protection of resources and landscapes

E. Crossroads Presentation -- Focuses on a New Jersey wide audience with regional storylines linking community-based interpretation and provides for planning to protect historic sites and regional landscapes.

We will talk about which scenario or combination of scenarios emphasizes what you think is most important for the Heritage Area? While described in fairly general ways each could lead to a much different result. However, the distinctive focus each requires can help to produce big ideas that could appear in the final scenario. For example, under Scenario D, Resource Stewardship, the heritage area could generate the critical mass needed to gain special state funding for preserving Revolutionary War-era landscapes and creating recreational linkages among sites. Possible? Practical and feasible? Help us generate ideas that will inspire us all!
